Playgroups:

There are two playgroups which meet weekly during the school term in the Church Hall. Parents, grandparents and carers are invited to bring their children along for mornings full of fun and friendship.

Thursdays 9.30am – 12.00pm (3-5yrs)
Fridays 9.30am – 11.30am (all ages up to school age)

The Thursday playgroup is a program run specifically for children ages 3 – 5yrs. It is a structured program that seeks to prepare children for starting school. The program begins at 9.30am and runs until 12.00pm. The cost is $5 and children should bring their own hats and morning tea.

The Friday playgroup is for children from birth up to school age and has a more free structure with various play and activity stations set up in and outdoors. The morning includes groups times of singing, story time and morning tea. The cost is $4 for members & $5 for non-members and children should bring their own hats and morning tea.

Op Shop:

The Church of the Good Shepherd Op Shop is located at Shop 17 in the Ashmore Plaza Shopping Centre. Tops, dresses, pants, shoes, glassware and bags are just some of the many things to be found in the shop.

YWAM:

Youth With A Mission is a non-profit, non-denominational organisation whose primary focus is to know God and to make God known. Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His Body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

YWAM Gold Coast partners with Ashmore Uniting Church and uses the Church facilities to run their Discipleship Training Schools.

School Chaplaincy:

Margaret Potter is our local primary school Chaplain at Ashmore State School. Margaret is at the school 2 days per week providing support and pastoral care to students, families and teachers. A number of activities are run throughout the week for students including SUPA Club, a weekly lunchtime activity of fun and games, and Breakfast Club, where students can gain a healthy start to their day and build friendships with others.

Extra helping hands for activities, financial support and above all, prayer, is always appreciated.

KIDS HOPE AUS.:

KIDS HOPE AUS. is a mentoring program that helps children needing additional support and their families. Through a partnership between local churches and primary schools, KIDS HOPE AUS. works to improve opportunities for mentored children in the areas of education, self confidence and wellbeing. Ashmore Uniting Church is partnering with Ashmore State School in this fantastic outreach opportunity to serve the community.

This group meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 7.30pm in the Church hall.
